The Rabbit Lake Control Dam is located on the Matabitchuan River system and was originally a timber crib structure built at the outlet of Rabbit Lake in 1910. It was rebuilt in 1927 and replaced again with a concrete structure in 1957. This dam controls Rabbit Lake flow into the Matabitchuan River, which flows into Fourbass Lake.

Matabitchuan Generating Station/Fourbass Lake
Matabitchuan Generating Station is located on the Matabitchuan River System near The City of Temiskaming Shores and began operating in 1910. This station has four units, a maximum generating capacity of 10 MW, and an operating head of 93 m, which is second only to Eugenia GS in Ontario.
