Peter Sutherland Senior Generating Station is located on the Abitibi River system near Smooth Rock Falls and began operating in 2017. This station has two units and a maximum generating capacity of 28 MW.

Otter Rapids Generating Station
Otter Rapids Generating Station is located on the Abitibi River system approximately 40 km downstream of Abitibi Canyon GS and began operating in 1961. The station has four units with a maximum generating capacity of 182 MW. The concrete dam consists of 10 sluice gates and two earth fill dykes.
New Post Creek Control Dam
Ontario Hydro constructed a dam in 1963 across the Little Abitibi River. At the same time, they also built diversion canals from the headpond to Worobec Lake and from the Worobec Lake to New Post Creek. New Post Creek flows into the Abitibi River upstream of Otter Rapids GS. The dam consists of a timber crib dam with 10 stoplog sluices and two earth filled dykes.
Frederick House Lake Control Dam
The Frederick House Lake Control Dam is located on the Frederick House River approximately 50 km northeast of the City of Timmins. The dam began operating in 1938 and has a long history of managing and storing water for hydroelectric generation at Abitibi Canyon and Otter Rapids Generating Station.
Abitibi Canyon Generating Station
Abitibi Canyon Generating Station is located approximately 160 km north of Timmins and 74 km north of Smooth Rock Falls. Built in 1933, this station has five units with a maximum generating capacity of 345 MW.
