Waboose Control Dam

The Waboose Control Dam was constructed in 1934 as part of the Ogoki Diversion project which diverted water into Lake Nipigon that historically flowed into the Ogoki River and then into the Albany River before entering James Bay.  The Dam is located on the east end of the Ogoki Reservoir at the Waboose Rapids.  The Waboose Dam consists of twelve sluices and each sluice has nine stoplogs along with a 233m long spillwall.
