Pine Portage Generating Station is located on the Nipigon River System, approximately 20 km upstream of Cameron Falls. The station has four generating units which came into operation between 1950 and 1954 and has a maximum generating capacity of 145 MW.
The outflow from Pine Portage GS helps control water elevation on Lake Nipigon.
